Year 11 Football Success

On Wednesday 19th September, a team of nine Year 11 students competed at the Dixons Cup in football at Dixons Allerton Academy. The boys were in a league format with 7 other teams and battled incredibly well against some very competitive teams. They went unbeaten in their first 6 games, winning 3 of them and drawing the other 3. Highlights included beating the reigning champions of the Dixons Cup, Dixons Unity 2-1 and also beating host school Dixons Allerton 4-0. They lost their final game to an incredibly strong Dixons Chapeltown team 3-0 - who were the overall winners and comprehensively beat all other teams. All 9 students played a pivotal role in the tournament and should be very proud of their achievements and for representing Dixons City so well. We are yet to receive the final results, but it looks like they finished 2nd in the final league out of 8 other Dixons academies.
