Jo Orton

Senior Vice Principal

Jo began teaching IT at Dixons City Technology College as a newly qualified teacher in 1995 after gaining her PGCE at Leeds University. Early in her career Jo worked with Bradford College to set up a PGCE course to train IT teachers with the first cohort of trainees starting in 1998. By 1999, she was promoted to Head of IT curriculum and became an Advanced Skills Teacher in 2003. With the conversion to academy status in 2005, Jo was appointed to the post of Assistant Head 14-19. She completed a Masters(MSc) in Multimedia and eLearning in 2006. Since 2010 Jo has been Vice Principal with a focus on student progress and curriculum and more recently appointed to Senior Vice Principal.
